¡Hola Speekee! is our 10-week series of free Spanish lessons for children at home.
Over the 10 weeks you will cover the following 10 themes:
Greetings. Numbers. Days / Months. Age. Colours. Animals. Family. Food. Likes and dislikes. Hobbies.
Activity 1
In this video we see the numbers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Why don’t you watch the video a few times and then try to repeat them?
Now you can try singing along. Here's the words you need for the short song:
Spanish | Pronunciation | English | |
---|---|---|---|
Uno | oonoh | One | |
Dos | doss | Two | |
Tres | tress | Three | |
Cuatro | kwahtroh | Four | |
Cinco | theenkoh | Five |
When you feel happy with that, try the numbers 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. Here they are:
Spanish | Pronunciation | English | |
---|---|---|---|
Seis | seheess | Six | |
Siete | seeyehteh | Seven | |
Ocho | ohchoh | Eight | |
Nueve | noowehbeh | Nine | |
Diez | dee-eth | Ten |
When you’ve practised getting these right you can put them into a song, too!
Then you can print off the activity sheet and follow the instructions on there! If you don’t have a printer, you can draw your own objects and write the sentences on some paper.
Activity 2
In this video, Lucía is counting some marbles.
Here she shows us 0 - 5. Have you got any marbles? If not it doesn’t matter - you can use anything to practise counting. Practise counting your objects, from zero to five, and then to ten if you’re feeling brave! Once you’re happy with that, print off the activity sheet and follow the instructions on there. If you don’t have a printer you can draw your own objects and write the sentences onto some paper.
Here’s a little table to help you with the sheet:
Spanish | Pronunciation | English | |
---|---|---|---|
¿Cuántas hay? | ¿kwantass ay? | How many are there? | |
Hay dos | ay doss | There are two |
